Path Links is a well-established networked pathology service providing diagnostic testing across five main hospital sites, spanning two acute NHS trusts. Ben will explore the history of the Path Links pathology network and the benefits realized through its development. In the past year a Bio-Rad networked solution has been implemented, encompassing six IH-500s, five manual workstations, and a single IH-Com installation linking the five sites.

Benjamin Holmes is the Blood Transfusion Laboratory Manager for Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, UK. In his current position, Ben is responsible for project and workload management, training, development and supervision of the transfusion laboratory staff. He makes sure that processes in place are robust and he oversees the development of new testing protocols.
As a secondary role, Ben is the digital lead for IT within blood transfusion across the five sites of Path Links. As part of this IT role, Ben recently oversaw the implementation of a new LIMS and the Bio-Rad networked solution. Ben is a member of the IBMS and BBTS.
