Improve Laboratory Efficiency
Traditionally, non-treponemal RPR testing requires manual processing and dedicated technician time to prepare, process, and report sample results. The automated BioPlex RPR assay simplifies RPR testing. After loading samples on the BioPlex 2200 System, technicians can focus their time on other tasks while the samples process and results are released automatically to the LIS. For reactive results, titers can be ordered onboard the instrument.

Assay Performance
The BioPlex 2200 Syphilis Total & RPR Assay provides high sensitivity and specificity for both treponemal and non-treponemal antibodies in a single one-step assay. The performance of the kit was compared against commercially available methods for both Syphilis Total and RPR and demonstrated excellent agreement for both prospective and retrospective samples. For medically diagnosed syphilis cases, the performance of the assay was compared against clinical diagnosis; these results were equivalent to the performance of other commercially available methods. The assay also demonstrates excellent total precision for both Syphilis Total (4.8% CV) and RPR (9.3% CV) in samples near the cutoff.
