In commemoration of World Sickle Cell Day on June 19th, Bio-Rad is pleased to invite you to register for a webinar about the current practices in newborn screening for Hemoglobinopathies and Thalassemia.

This presentation will cover the rationale and clinical relevance of newborn screening for Hemoglobinopathies and Thalassemia. Ms. Dorley will present an overview of the newborn screening system from the perspective of the Tennessee Department of Health, United States. Current screening methodologies will be presented with a focus on the Bio-Rad VARIANT nbs Newborn Screening System and the algorithms used for screening and confirmation.

M. Christine Dorley earned a Master’s degree in public service management from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. She serves as the Assistant Director for the State of Tennessee Newborn Screening Division and oversees the screening of all Tennessee newborns for metabolic and genetic diseases including Hemoglobinopathies.
