JULY 1st
THU 3-4PM GMT+8 Singapore / 9-10AM GMT+2 Paris

Invasive fungal infections such as Aspergillosis, endanger lives of millions of people annually. With the global pandemic of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19), studies are showing that invasive aspergillosis may complicate severe COVID-19 pneumonia and that CAPA substantially contributed to a high death rate in COVID-19 patients.

In this educational webinar, Professor Denning will notably present the importance of diagnosing invasive aspergillosis on time. Dr Köhler will present the recently published 2020 ECMM/ISHAM consensus criteria for CAPA with the pros and cons of the methods available for diagnosis and treatment options. Discussion will also occur on what role galactomannan detection may have in improving CAPA diagnosis.
